Overview
You can permanently delete your MyCarPast account at any time, directly in the app or by sending an email. Deletion removes your profile, your vehicles, your maintenance records, photos, and invoices, and immediately cancels any active subscriptions. This page exists to comply with Google Play requirements and to fulfill your right to erase personal data.
Delete your account via the app (recommended)
This is the fastest way, taking less than a minute:
- Open the MyCarPast app and sign in to your account.
- Tap the gear icon (Settings) at the top of the screen.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and open Your account.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Delete your account via email
If you cannot access the app, you can request deletion via email:
- Send an email to contact@mycarpast.com from the address used in your MyCarPast account.
- Use as the subject: Account deletion.
- We process the request within 30 days, usually within a few business days, and send a confirmation via email.
Deleted data
Deletion permanently removes, without the possibility of recovery:
- User profile (name, email, language, country)
- All registered vehicles, including photos and data (make, model, license plate, mileage)
- All maintenance records, parts, prices, and descriptions
- All invoices and photos attached to services
- Future reminders and push notification settings
- Shared public reports, sharing links become invalid immediately
- Active Stripe subscriptions, canceled at the time of deletion to avoid charges
Retained data
Due to legal obligations (accounting, fiscal, and anti-fraud), we may keep a minimum set of data after account deletion:
- Invoices issued by Stripe and payment records, retained for the required legal period (up to 10 years in some EU countries)
- Anonymized security and anti-fraud logs, retained for up to 12 months
- Transactional emails already sent, kept in the email provider for up to 30 days for diagnostics
Delete specific data without deleting your account
You can delete specific data without closing your account. These actions are available at any time within the app:
- Delete a vehicle: in the Garage, open the vehicle, tap Settings and then Delete vehicle. The vehicle enters a temporary deletion state for 30 days, during which it can be restored. After 30 days, it is permanently removed, along with associated photos, maintenance records, and invoices.
- Delete a maintenance record: open the vehicle, tap the record and select Delete. Removal is immediate and irreversible, including the attached invoice photo.
- Remove a photo or invoice: open the maintenance record, tap the photo and choose Remove attachment.
- Cancel the Pro subscription without deleting your account: in Settings, open the subscription section and tap Cancel. Your data remains accessible on the free plan, with a limit of 1 active vehicle.
- Email request for partial deletion: send an email to contact@mycarpast.com identifying exactly which data to delete (for example, a specific vehicle or a date range). We respond within 30 days.
Legal retention obligations described in "Retained data" also apply to partial deletion related to payments (Stripe invoices).
Retention period and processing time
Deletion via the app is immediate. Email requests are processed within 30 days. After processing, all personal data is removed from production systems. Encrypted backups may retain copies for up to 30 additional days before full rotation, without human access.
